Thanksgiving 08

Today I made the discovery that I've been spelling "dilemma" wrong all my life. I was definitely taught in school to spell it "dilemna" and I have seen in spelled that way in books and newspapers. How do you spell mortified. I called my mom and dad and they both spelled it correctly, they laughed at me and said I didn't get it from them.
I'm just going to watch cartoons, I think Charlie Brown is on.
Happy Thanksgiving!

That sucks...I am sure no one noticed. Two m's can look like mn or nn or mm. At least you weren't speling dilenna.

My Thanksgiving was uneventful. I am giving up on turkeys. I do not like to eat it so this is the last year that I will have turkey for Thanksgiving. Next year I will just order a lamb or pig from the spit. That will be my Thanksgiving.

Lots of people have ham instead, they prefer it. I just don't like carving the turkey because I worse at that than I am at shopping.

I ordered a turkey this year. Actually my mom did. She didn't want me to get tired. Smartly, she ordered a 12 lbs turkey for three people, one that doesn't eat turkey. Makes sense, no? Now she is stuck with 10 lbs of turkey and doesn't know what to do with it. Oh well. I made kick ass mashed potatoes. I love mash. Don't really like stuffing or gravy. I need something to eat. Off to get a bagel.

Mmm I love mashed potatoes too, but I have trouble making gravy. The lady on tv made it with ranch dressing. I wonder if that would be good?
I am trying to figure out who the three people were because I desperately want Roy out of the picture. Let's see:
1)You (no turkey)
2)Mama
3)Princeza (L)
I think your Dad was in Cro? And what about your brother?

My bro, mom, Lu and Roy. roy doesn't eat meat, I don't really like turkey and neither does Lu. I still spent all day cooking. I made a pumpkin pie. Easiest recipe ever. no crust. Of course, I hate pumpkin pie so I didn't eat it. I am told it was delicious and since it was eaten I believe it. I don;t think I like gingerbread either. Or watermelon. Or tomatoes. Or chicken (I am bored of it) or ground meat (burgers). hmmm. I thought Lu was a picky eater, now I know where it comes from.....My dog gained weight. my fault because I feed her table food. I am anti-dog food. really, I had dogs, they always ate leftovers and they all dies of all age. Here dogs eat dog food, no table scraps, and get diseases like cancer. WTF? I think it is the dog food. Off to bed now, I have a huge meeting at 9. One of our people got laid off and we are all worried about it. the big boss, who is in a different building and no one ever sees is holding the meeting. scary.

I bet the pumpkin pie was delicious, but how can a pie have no crust? I've never heard of this. I like all those foods which you don't like, but I don't like to eat any fast food. At all. Only when forced. Maybe not gingerbread either. Or watermelon, but I like watermelon flavor candy. I also don't like yams but I like sweet potato pie.
How did the meeting go?

Horrible. Basically we were all fired. We get to work for them through 3/4 then our employer changes. They sold us to the law firm that works with us. They started off the meeting with: You are all being laid off but you still have jobs so really none of you are fired. Ridiculous.
So anyway, they gave a package with severance. I get $15,000 in severance which is not bad considering I was only there since September. In addition. we start working for the law firm on 3/5 and I got a 5K raise for that. I meet with them tomorrow to go over the offer and benefits. I can always decline, but in this economy, finding a comparable offer will be impossible. I make too much money. Not to sound like a total elitist bitch but my paygrade is three times as much as it was at EBG.
So I don't know anything until tomorrow. To make myself feel better, I went shopping after work, I bought my mom this for her birthday (tomorrow) http://www.uggaustralia.com/ProductDetails.aspx?gID=m&categoryID=285&productID=FH10&model=Classic+Trapper+
She likes these things because she freezes in the winter and she works nights.

I also got a Xmas present for my sister in law. Shirt, earrings and a bracelet (killer sale it all cost me $20, regular price $145). And I got my friend Cath a sexy shirt (I bought two, one for me). Got them for $7 each, regular price $65 each. I lucked out today.

I also bought myself two shirts at Benetton on sale for $18 each (reg price $68). The shirts are made in Croatia. How funny is that? And I bought a book that will make me quit smoking without trying (my friend who smoked for 10 years swears by it). this is the book http://www.amazon.com/Easy-Way-Stop-Smoking-Non-Smokers/dp/1402718616/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1228357985&sr=8-1

I will let you know if it works. I am really upset. Roy doesn't get it. He thinks it's great I will be making more money (I make more than him either way). To piss of my current employers I am seriously considering going to FL in February for a long weekend to visit his grand parents. $69 tickets on JetBlue.
