Addendum to laundry practices

New laundry rule: Never on Monday.
My thinking at the time, when I took this place, was that I didn't want to burden myself with purchasing a washer and dryer and then be forced to move it to storage in a year when I deploy overseas. I made it a criteria for choosing a place to live, if I couldn't find a rental with a washer/dryer already in place then I wanted a laundry facility in the complex. Bad logic, bad thinking. There are only twelve dryers and there are probably a hundred apartments. The way I see it, nobody wants to fool with laundry on the weekend but when Monday rolls around we all realize we need underpants and so we scurry to wash our clothes at the same time. Sigh, anyway now there is no dryer for me to use and my wet clothes are sitting in there waiting. Some Mainer will probably throw them out onto the ground while I am away. The really irritating thing is that some of the dryers would be ready but people refuse to show up on time to take their clothes out. The lady asked me, "how long do you give them?" I said "I don't know, I won't touch anybody's stuff I will just wait." She said she'd just throw it on the ground. Then the other lady said one time somebody moved her stuff and when she came back she couldn't find it. Then I got tired of small talking with the Maine people and I left. I can foresee this taking all night. I had my own washer/dryer in Florida and I took it for granted. Now I see that. Now I am a better man.
The other thing that gets me is when they use multiple machines for tiny little loads. News flash: You do not have to separate whites from colors in the dryer! I don't even separate them in the washer, just throw it all in there it will be fine.

This whole not enough driers thing happens to me too. When someone's stuff is done they have 5 min. If they are not there I take the stuff out and put it in one of those little carts. Done laundry does not bother me but when it is busy people need to be mindful. When it is busy I am there before my laundry is done since I know someone will be waiting to use the drier.
I try to never do laundry on Mondays. Mid week and friday nights are good. Also weekend afternoons.
That's my laundry wisdom for tonight.
You have to post more often.
