Mines that badass one covered in dirt
Somebody tried to drop me off at my car today but went to the wrong Mustang. I said, "That's not my car, mine's that badass one covered in dirt."
Had a look at an apartment in Portland, didn't hate it. Portland is apparently a city (never heard of it), more my style than this hee-haw town where I work. The problem is that it's thirty one miles away and the backup plan of purchasing a second car for the commute will not work because I am entitled to only one parking spot.
Let's think out loud:
62 miles round trip x 5 days per week x 12 months= 14,880 miles per year just commuting. Not terrible for only a year and a half but it's also a solid 40 minutes with no traffic. I'm having a hard time being thrilled with this.
The guy who showed the apartment looked like:
a) a leprechaun
b) looked and acted like Phillip Seymore Hoffman in The Big Lebowski.
One of the tenants moaned out the window, "I'm druuuuunk! I'm druuuuuuuunnnk!" The guy was embarrassed, apologetic. I said, "Do I get a discount for that?" He nervous-laughed me. "I will have that corrected." St. Paddy's Day, whatever. I was just happy not to be in the wilderness. If West Virginia were in Canada, this is what it would look like.
I'll go ahead and submit the application. That will take a few days to go through, meanwhile I can keep looking. It' so far away though, I don't even want to drive back out there to drop off the application.
This arctic weather is making my elbows dry and chappy and I am going through multiple bottles of lotion, I hope the cleaning ladies don't think I am up to anything suspicious in here.

Hahaha! I still think you should look into investing in a double wide. That's a lot of commuting miles. I don't think I could do it. On the other hand I commute by train probably that same distance so maybe it is not too bad. On the third hand I can nap, read a newspaper and make fun of tourists. You do not have that option. Hmmmm. Keep looking, I guess. Did you start work yet?
Ebay again. I found out that you can bid on a car on ebay. So that's what I've been doing. Bidding on cars because I want a different one for $100.
I am waiting for my super bad shoes to come. I might walk all the way to Maine to check out your doublewide if you get one. Email please. It has been far too long.

Nivea cream. Best thing ever. Not the lotion but old school cream. Comes in a tin tub or maybe plastic one now. It is blue. Will make your skin soft.

I was just told that everyone in Maine drives a Subaru because they are good snow cars. Is that true? Are there many Subarus around?

I haven't noticed anything but a normal Subaru to non-Subaru ratio but I'll watch out for that. Everyone has little front wheel drive pieces of S.
I have Dunkin Donuts in my parking lot, don't even have to go out onto the road to get there but I drive anyway, and next door to that is a car wash! Makes me happy.
All my stuff is here and I'm unpacking today. They are redoing my whole kitchen so I don't want to unpack any kitchen stuff yet or obviously cook anything but I am hungry and this place needs some food smells NOW seriously kthanks.
