Kind of Blue
Hooray tomorrow is Valentine's Day again, a day of love and romance and self pity and hatred. A special day to remember what is lost and to lament what could have been. A day to drink the hard stuff, only I don't drink and I have to work on Friday. So basically the same as every day.
Driving home from work today in the rain, I felt like it was donut weather. I typed Dunkin Donuts into my nav system and it said turn here so I did and now I have twelve delicious donuts and a coffee and I put Miles Davis Kind of Blue on the stereo and the rain is beating on my window and there is a definite mood. If I had a fireplace I would build a fire, perfect. Maybe I'll just go out in the street and light a pile of leaves.
I stopped by my old work yesterday just to say hi and hang out for a minute. Right away we started talking about all kinds of random stuff and it was fun and I wish I still worked there. They said it is boring now and the new person set fire to something, I found the experience satisfying.
There is a 5k race tomorrow, I could do that if the weather is nice. Something to focus on. I haven't prepared though, and I only want to do it if I think I'm going to win. I don't know.
Such regrets I have! This music is making me feel mournful.
I watched The Devil Wears Prada last weekend, because I am secure with my masculinity. Good movie! However, do not tell anyone that I watched it.
