A summary of the weekend so far

I took my car to work for the first time last Friday, picked up a friend and took him out for a drive at lunchtime. I pulled out onto the main road and there were two riding lawn mowers in front of me so I showed off and dropped a gear to blow past them, fast. Then I noticed the cop at the intersection just ahead. "Shit, I'm going to get a ticket on my first day in this car!" I slowed down and kept on eye on the cop in my mirrors for a minute. No flashing lights, cool. We drove on, I behaved, and we got to where we were going and stepped out of the car. Then it was like in a scary movie when they turn around and the monster is suddenly right there. The cop was parked right behind me and she was out of her car and she was cute, so I laughed.
"Do you know what the speed limit is back there?"
"Uhhh, it's got to be 20?"
"Were you going 20?"
"No. Those lawn mowers were in my way."
Then, unbelievably, she said, "Nice car," and she left!
I should have said, "Do you want a ride?" but I never think of something good until it's too late. Out of practice.
After work we went out for for drinks, there were a bunch of us and it was a good time. Even the married guys came out with their wives. Some girl somehow started talking to me and I don't know how we got on the topic but I was telling her I wasn't scared to fight her so she was like okay lets go and then I got scared and made some excuse then ran away. Later on my friend's wife said some other girl thought I was hot but I didn't ask who because there was this fat girl who kept eyeing me and I didn't want it to be her.
We caught a ride home from one of the wives at the end of the night and I announced the presence of my car as we pulled into the parking lot. "If you'll look over there you'll notice my shiny new Mustang." She slammed on the brakes, jumped out and ran to my car. I thought she was going to dry hump it. More on that later.
Yesterday we had breakfast at Denny's and then sat around all day until it was time for a movie. We saw the Kevin Bacon movie, Death Sentence. I parked towards the back of the lot, away from the traffic, but a guy pulled in near me. Out of nowhere he goes, "What's up man. Nice car." I played it cool like hey no big deal and I said, "thanks" but inside- totally made my day. The movie was too sad but not too bad, my friend hated it. He said the action scenes must have been choreographed by Mr. Bean, but he also said he wiped his eye at one point when he got choked up and he didn't know if anything was going to come out.
We went back to the bar after the movie and that guy's wife was there again. She said, "K are you going to let me drive your car?"
"No."
"But you said you would let me drive it sometime!"
"I said that?"
"Yes."
"I was wasted."
I wasn't wasted but she was trying to pull a fast one so I played that card.

So the car made you popular or were you always popular? It looks nice.
We are hanging out at the beach. We had a nice picnic and I am freezing. Good thing I brought long sleeves. It is really windy and not even 80. Roy and L refuse to come out of the water. I refuse to go in. They did build a really nice sand castle that looks like a mountain fortress with a bridge and water running about it.
My closing is tentatively scheduled for Friday. I hope I can move in the same day. L chose her bedroom already and I think I am getting the black leather table. I have to see. K is still in the hospital. They do not know what is wrong with her and she gets blood infusions daily. I visit her twice a day every day. I wish she would get better. It is hard seeing her like that. She is only eight!
We have a big bbq planned for tomorrow at our friends house. I am making a pasta salad with feta and I have to buy a little present for their daughter. Then school starts for Lu on Tues.
What are you up to tomorrow?

I love feta, that sounds good. I might copy your idea, I have some tortellini but nothing to go with it. Guess I'll have to make a trip to my favorite place, they know my name. Tonight I am finally making the stuffed tomatoes, wish me luck. I had pot roast last night, I slow cooked it overnight and all day yesterday, it turned out so good. How do you make the pasta salad?
Are you going to take the day off on Friday to handle the closing and start moving? I wish I could take every day off, I don't want to go to work anymore. I think I'll watch Office Space tonight. Not going out.
I wish that girl would get better now too, I can't believe they don't know what is wrong with her... is she at a good hospital? If I were her Dad I would be going crazy.
We have had rain all weekend and it's supposed to rain again tomorrow so I probably won't make it to the beach. I think I'll just hang out at home, recharge and get ready for the week. I just finished my long run for the week, now I am starving and I can't stop thinking of feta cheese and BBQ. MMmmmmmm.

Stuffed tomato is in the oven, I think it's going to turn out okay... The filling looks really good!

Okay I overstuffed it so the filling overflowed and made the bottom soft, but it still held up okay and it tasted delicious! I burned my mouth because I couldn't wait to eat it. I used lots of parmesan!

She is at a really good childrens hospital on LI. Hopefully they will know something next week. I will go see her tomorrow morning.
You can make pasta salad with tortelini. It is better with that than just plain pasta. Make tortelini and when done rinse with cold water for a couple of minutes. Then put in a pot and add some olive oil and balsamic vinegar. That way they don't stick together. Then add: onions, red peppers (sweet), green peppers (sweet), salt, pepper, oregano, basil and crumbles feta cheese. That's all. Add more olive oil and vinegar as needed. You can also add whatever else you like. Red pepper flakes if you want to add spice, sundried tomatoes (soak in water first so they are not hard), olives. Anything you want. I make it without additions but you can add all you want. This is also good as a side dish to grilled chicken or steak or anything.

Oh. You have to cut the peppers into little pieces and clean out the inside. You throw all that out.

Thank you. You're so sweet M. Good night.
