The stairmaster
Today I was supposed to go shopping but I woke up with a middle finger and a bottle of Jim Beam in my face. I have an open door policy at my house, maybe something I need to rethink. I'm not the drinker I once was but I felt obliged so I asked if it would be okay if I put it in my coffee. He allowed it. After some drinks we went to a strangers house to pick up a stairmaster for his girlfriend. The craigslist ad said 50 bucks so it was a bargain I guess even though she really wanted a treadmill not a stairmaster but I don't judge since I dont even have a girlfriend, obviously I know nothing about women. And when I say nothing I mean not one single thing. So we're drunk in this woman's house trying out her stairmaster. It wasn't working right but my buddy thought he might have been out of the weight class or his technique might have been wrong so says hey K you work out at the gym, does this feel right to you? I got on it and started climbing and saw what he meant, the pedals didnt have enough spring. I said you're right, the foot thingies don't spring back up quick enough after you push them down but the lady said we were taking steps too big and she got on it to show us the proper method, with baby steps. At the time it seemed legit but now thinking back I'm not so sure. I think maybe he should have let that one go.
We threw it in the back of his truck and went over to Brad's house. Brad's girl was hellbent on going to DC to see the damn tree and Brad was trying to drag us down with him but we would have none of it. Also he was playing his damn Madden game on the xbox so we ditched him and went off to get food and to find better things to do, which means that we went to a bar. The bartender clearly wanted me but I ignored it, I get that a lot and frankly I just don't have time for it. We caught up on some old times and I gave out some worthless advice, the only kind I have to give considering I'm worse off than everybody I know when it comes to certain things and by nine oclock we were sleepy and ready to go home, all tuckered out after a big day. I brewed up a nice fresh pot of coffee now and I'm feeling cozy, too bad I have no Christmas presents. Gotta try again tomorrow...
