The Hurriane trip

They stuck all 3000 of us in a hangar-bay in Albany, Georgia (with the females separated, of course.) It would have been fun if we weren't sweating our asses of the whole time from the relentless Georgia heat. If you've ever walked into a metal shed in July, that's how hot it was- we were pouring sweat. The good thing is that we didn't have to do much, just lay around on cots and read magazines and eat MREs.

MREs are fun, like christmas presents. They come in a plastic pouch and you know the entree thats inside but everything else is a surprise. Some have candy, like tootsie rolls or MnMs, and some have different drink mixes- grape or orange or apple cider, and there's some with milkshakes too. There was one enchillada MRE that had this cheesy jalapeno sauce, and you squeeze it in there and mix in the refried beans and some hot sauce and one guy said it was good too if you crumbled up your crackers and threw them in there- its good damn stuff. Especially when you're out there in the field (warehouse) and thats the only thing there is. They issued us too many so now I have a drawer full of them for when I get hungry later.

They let us go for a few hours on Saturday and a few hours on Monday and we went to the pool. I went bowling too. There was no drinking though, because we are students. Thank goodness home isn't the same way.

We showered in litle tents with water from the fire hydrant, and they had wooden sinks hooked up to it too. Hygene, yay.

As soon as they let me go today I'm picking up a car and going out to Destin to meet my brother. He's riding his bike cross country from NYC to LA and he managaged to get the use of a beach house from his ex-gilfriend's father. Crazy. I'm bringing a friend too, he's a Red Sox fan the bastard. Gonna watch the game tonight.

Gotta run, things to do, people to see.
